Shreveport Police Investigating Injury During Weekend Parade
The Shreveport Police Department is investigating an incident that happened during the Krewe of Centaur Mardi Gras parade Saturday evening.
The incident happened near Shreveport-Barksdale Highway and East Kings Highway involving a pedestrian and a vehicle pulling a float.
At around 6:00 PM, a 24 year-old woman was involved in an accident in which her legs were run over by a pickup truck pulling a Mardi Gras float. The Shreveport Fire Department got to the scene and transported the woman to the hospital for treatment. The woman is expected to recover.
Shreveport Police told KEEL News that some kind of altercation took place between two groups of people, and during the incident, the woman was supposedly pushed, and ended up with her legs under the tires of the moving pickup truck. Whether or not the push was intentional is under investigation by Shreveport Police.
