Shreveport House Fire Investigated

It only took about 15 minutes for Shreveport firefighters to bring a house fire under control this afternoon in the 1000 block of Rutherford, but they spent much of the afternoon there. Chief Fred Sanders tells KEEL news there were two people home at the time -- a man and a 62-year-old woman -- but they both got out safely. Chief Sanders says the woman has told investigators that the fire started in the bathroom and she had tried, unsuccessfully, to put it out. It spread to an adjoining bedroom and the attic. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
