Shreveport Police K-9 Assists in High Speed Chase Arrest
The Shreveport Police Department would like to congratulate K-9 Edy on another outstanding job in apprehending a violent suspect following an incident on September 12th, just before midnight.
The situation began when officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Monkhouse Drive, which led to a pursuit throughout the city after the driver failed to comply. The vehicle ultimately came to a stop at the intersection of Kennedy Street and Joe Louis Street after crashing, at which point the driver fled on foot. K-9 Edy quickly apprehended the suspect, identified as 29-year-old Quanterius Johnson.
Johnson was found to have outstanding fugitive warrants and has since been charged with multiple crimes, including one count of aggravated flight from an officer, one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, one count of possession of narcotics, one count of illegal carrying of a weapon, as well as multiple traffic offenses. Johnson was treated for minor injuries sustained during his resistance.
We would like to commend the outstanding work of our Shreveport Police Patrol officers in taking yet another violent offender off the streets. A special thank you to K-9 Edy and his handler for their continued dedication to making our community safer.
