
Shreveport Man Arrested for Attempted Murder After Hatchet Attack
On Friday, Shreveport Police got a call about an armed person on East 70th Street.
Someone passing by a parking lot called and said 2 people were in a fight during which one of the men got a hatchet.
SPD showed up on scene, and found a man with a nasty cut above his right eye. The cut was very deep and required stitches. Due to the severity of the attack, SPD's Violent Crimes Unit was called in to assist in the investigation.
After an investigation, Detectives identified Jack Handy as the one who is suspected of attacking the man with a hatchet. Handy was arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder.
