
Shreveport Habitual Offender Wanted for Catalytic Converter Theft
Shreveport Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a wanted suspect connected to a catalytic converter theft.
Last month, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a reported theft on Mansfield Road. The caller told SPD that he had parked his car at around 1:00 p.m. When he returned to the car, he found that the catalytic converter had been stolen.
Officers reviewed surveillance footage from the area. The video revealed a car pulling up and parking next to the victim’s vehicle. A white male suspect, described as having a heavier build, exited the vehicle and crawled underneath the victim's car before removing the catalytic converter.
Detectives later identified the suspect as Alexander Stevens, a 37 year-old white male. Stevens is described as approximately 5’9”, 210 pounds, with dark hair and a short dark beard.
Further investigation revealed Stevens has an extensive criminal history, including multiple prior arrests for theft, illegal possession of stolen items, and simple burglary.
Detectives have secured an arrest warrant for Stevens for:
· Theft of a Catalytic Converter
Shreveport Police are urging the public to come forward with any information that could lead to Stevens' arrest.
