Shreveport Police Continue Efforts to Take Guns Off Our Streets

The Shreveport Police Department is committed to keeping guns out of the hands of those who are not suppose to have them.

Late last week, SPD were able to find and arrest Kelvin Dotie. Dotie was found to be in possession of a gun that he was not suppose to have. Dotie is a convicted felon due to a 1992 homicide case that he was found guilty of.

Earlier last week, SPD Officers arrested Kevin Wiggins. Wiggins was found to be in possession of drugs and a gun. Wiggins is not suppose to own a gun due to being a convicted felon after a 2019 attempted murder arrest that led to a conviction of felony cruelty to a juvenile.

Both men were processed after their arrests, and their cases will be pursued to the furthest extent of the law.
