On April 16th, 2023, Shreveport Police Patrol officers conducted a traffic stop at Jewella Avenue and Ninock Street. During this investigation, Naveita Martin (3-20-81) was found to be in possession of a firearm and narcotics.

Further investigation into the matter revealed that Martin was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to being a convicted felon for prior felony offenses.

The firearm was seized by the offices and Martin was arrested for one count of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, one count of possession of schedule two, one count of possession of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance, and one count of driving under suspension.

We are required to advise that all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
