Shreveport Police Arrest Two on Gun Charges Following Shooting
On Tuesday, Shreveport Police were called to the intersection of Hudson Street and Midway Avenue. When SPD got there to investigate, they were able to identify 2 people who they believe were involved in the shooting.
Police immediately went searching for the two suspects. After a short search, Officers were able to locate Deandre Below and Tyler McFann and arrest them for firing a gun in the area. The gun was found near the scene, and SPD said it was still warm to the touch when they found it. Many shell casings were also found.
Below was arrested for one count of illegal use of a weapon and one count of possession of a stolen firearm. McFann is facing one count of illegal use of a weapon as well as accessory after the fact for helping Below hide the gun from Police.
SPD had this to say of the incident:
"The Shreveport Police Department is committed to ensuring the safety of our neighborhoods. Gunplay and reckless behavior that endanger our community will not be tolerated. We will continue our all-out blitz to get illegal weapons—and those who use them—off the streets."
