Shreveport Police Find Gun And Drugs During Traffic Stop

On September 22nd, 2023, around 2:52 a.m. proactive Shreveport Police Patrol officers conducted a traffic stop at 1300 North Market Street in reference to a traffic violation. During the traffic stop officers contacted the driver Darrin Johnson (11-13-66). Officers conducted a search of the vehicle locating a firearm and narcotics.

Further investigation into the matter revealed that Johnson was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to being a convicted felon for prior felony offenses. He was arrested on one count of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and one count of possession of Schedule two. The firearms and narcotics were seized as evidence.

We are required to advise that all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
