
Shreveport Casinos See Ups And Downs In July Revenue
Has inflation had an impact on how much money folks are spending at the casinos in Shreveport and Bossier? It’s hard to determine exactly what is impacting the revenues, but the numbers are down a bit.
What Do the Gambling Numbers in Shreveport Bossier Show?
The most recent data for gambling revenue in Shreveport-Bossier shows a mixed performance. Overall revenue for our region is down a bit compared to last month. But we are seeing a big jump from last year.
What Do the Total Gambling Dollars Look Like?
Total gaming revenue for the casinos in northwest Louisiana in July came in at $46.1 million, which represents a 9.5% drop from the $51 million reported in June of this year. But we are showing a 20% increase from the July 2024 gambling revenues of $38 million.
Horseshoe Bossier City is the big winner in this latest report. Revenues at the casino are up 27% from last month and up a whopping 57% from a year ago. Horseshoe has been doing upgrades to meet the challenge from the new kid on the block, Live Casino.
Margaritaville has faced the toughest time over the past year. Revenues at the Bossier casino are down almost 25% from June. The casino brought in close to $11 million in July, down from $14.5 million in June. Margaritaville revenues were over $14 million in July of last year.
Live! Casino, which is new to the market, brought in $9.4 million in revenue. But that’s down about $2 million from the June numbers.

1. Margaritaville – $14,3 million
2. Horseshoe Bossier City – $8.6 million
3. Bally's Shreveport – $8.2 million
4. Boomtown Bossier – $3.7 million
5. Sam’s Town – $3.5 million
Total for all casinos in July 2024: $38,437,000
Despite the month-to-month drop, the year-to-date numbers tell a slightly different story. Regional totals for 2025 stand at $38.4 million, up 20.1% from $31.9 million at this point last year. This suggests that while July was a down month for most properties, the market overall remains stronger than it was in 2024.
