Shreveport Police Arrest Man For Illegal Firearm Possession

On December 24, 2024, shortly after 10:00 PM, Shreveport Police officers were proactively patrolling the Mansfield Road and Jewella Avenue corridor when they conducted a traffic stop on a white Chevy Malibu.

During the stop, officers identified the driver as Jeffrey James. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that James had an outstanding warrant for Aggravated Assault with a Firearm. Additionally, officers found that James was in possession of a firearm despite being prohibited from doing so due to his status as a convicted felon.

James was arrested on the outstanding warrant and charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

This arrest reflects the Shreveport Police Department’s ongoing commitment to removing firearms from individuals who are prohibited from possessing them and holding those individuals accountable for their actions.
