
Shreveport Police Arrest Felon With a Gun After Foot-Chase
On Saturday, Shreveport Police got a call about a suspicious person in the area of Hassett and Oak Crest Street.
When Police got to the scene, they saw a man wearing a ski-mask. SPD tried to approach him, but he immediately ran away. Police noticed the man throw something while he was running, but Officers continued the chase.
An Officer was finally able to take the man down with a taser, and SPD took him in to custody. When Officers traced the steps of the chase they found what the man had thrown, and it was a handgun.
Police got an ID on the guy and it was Anthony Perot. Perot had drugs on him, along with the gun, and after running his ID they found out that Perot is a convicted felon.
Perot had multiple felony convictions including:
· A 2020 conviction for aggravated assault with a firearm
· A 2013 conviction for armed robbery
· A 2015 conviction for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
· A 2016 conviction for battery of a police officer
Perot is now facing charges of Possession of a firearm by a felon, resisting, Illegal Carrying of a firearm, and Possession of Narcotics.
