During the execution of the search warrant, officers discovered a firearm and narcotics at Hamilton's residence. He was immediately taken into custody and transported to the Shreveport Police Department Jail for processing.
Roy Hamilton has been charged with the following offenses:
· Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
· Illegal Carrying of a Weapon with Controlled Dangerous Substances
· Possession of Schedule II and Schedule I Narcotics
Chief Wayne Smith emphasized that the Shreveport Police Department remains committed to taking gun crimes very seriously and will continue to aggressively pursue those who violate the law.
