
Shreveport Man Arrested After Drunk Driving Accident
Over the weekend, Shreveport Police responded to a major accident at the intersection of I-49 and Hollywood Avenue.
According to the people who saw the accident, a car ran a red light at the intersection and hit another car. When Police got to the accident, they started talking to the man who ran the light identified as Richard Roberson.
SPD Officers could smell alcohol on Roberson, and they detained him. Officers tried to give Roberson a field sobriety test, but he was not cooperative and would not follow directions.
The driver of the other car was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The victim is alive, but is looking at a lengthy recovery.
Roberson has been charged with:
· Driving While Intoxicated (DWI)
· Felony Vehicular Negligent Injury
· No Proof of Insurance
· Reckless Operation of a Vehicle
· Possession of Alcoholic Beverages in a Motor Vehicle
· Failure to Register a Vehicle
