Shreveport Police Arrest Man for Drugs and Felony Firearm Charges
On September 8th, Shreveport Police officers arrested Marcus Smallwood during a traffic stop in the 3000 block of North Market Street. During the stop, officers discovered that Smallwood, a convicted felon, was in possession of a firearm and suspected methamphetamine.
Shreveport Police confirmed that Smallwood is prohibited from possessing a firearm due to his felony conviction. He has been charged with the following offenses:
· One count of being a felon in possession of a firearm
· One count of possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance
· One count of possession of a scheduled narcotic
· One count of possession of drug paraphernalia
All items found in Smallwood's possession have been seized as evidence.
The Shreveport Police Department remains committed to removing illegal firearms from our streets and ensuring that those prohibited from possessing them are held accountable. Thanks to the swift and appropriate actions of our patrol officers, these dangerous items have been successfully removed from our community.
