Shreveport Police Investigating Double Homicide Shooting

Shreveport Police Department responded to a shooting on Forest Oak Drive within the city limits of Shreveport.

When SPD got to the scene, first responders located two people inside the home with life-threatening gunshot wounds. Both victims were taken to Ochsner LSU Health, where they were later pronounced deceased.

SPD detained witnesses for questioning and began an investigation. Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded, processed the scene, and executed a search warrant at the home.

Detectives found out that a verbal altercation between the two people escalated into a physical confrontation after a gun was pulled. Investigators believe a fight over the gun occurred, resulting in both people being shot.

Both deceased individuals were positively identified through latent fingerprint analysis. Investigators believe the dispute may have started after a disagreement involving a cell phone.

This remains an active and ongoing investigation.
