Shreveport Man Arrested on Brutal Domestic Violence Charges

Shreveport Police Department responded to a welfare concern at a residence on Panatela Lane.

Shreveport Police Communications advised officers that a concerned mother had been sent a photograph of her daughter indicating she may have been involved in a physical altercation.

When SPD got to the scene, they found the victim, who was visibly shaken, trembling, and reluctant to speak. Officers reassured her that she was no longer in danger.

The victim told SPD that Jamariya Stafford threw a small bottle that hit her in the face. As a result, she sustained injuries, including her right eye being swollen shut, a deep cut between her eyes that was actively bleeding at the time of the investigation, a large bruise on her forehead, and overall swelling on her face.

Shreveport Fire Department medics arrived on the scene and told that the victim that she may have a fractured orbital socket and should go to the hospital to be checked out.

Officers found blood throughout the scene, including on the inside of the driver’s side window of a Jeep, along the walkway leading to the door of the residence, and on the driver’s seat of the Jeep.

Further investigation showed that Stafford has a priors involving domestic violence and is currently the subject of a protective order from another person.

"Based on the evidence and statements gathered, officers arrested Jamariya Stafford on one count of Domestic Abuse Battery with Serious Bodily Injury.

This case remains under investigation."
