Shreveport Police Arrest Two for Domestic Violence by Strangulation
Earlier this week, Shreveport Police arrested two men on charges involving domestic abuse with strangulation.
Domestic violence is a growing problem in Shreveport, and SPD is working hard to both combat and hold those involved responsible for their actions. These two arrests are part of that effort.
Trakevin Black was arrested following a domestic dispute. He has been charged with domestic abuse battery by strangulation, domestic abuse child endangerment, arson, and simple criminal property damage.

That same day, officers also arrested Tyrone Whitaker for domestic abuse battery, domestic abuse child endangerment, and domestic abuse battery by strangulation.

From SPD:
"Domestic abuse is a cancer that is hurting families across our city. Even more troubling, these acts are increasingly happening in front of children — creating trauma, fear, and the next generation of victims.
This cycle must stop. We must protect victims, hold abusers accountable, and refuse to let domestic violence become normal in our community."
