On Monday, Shreveport Police were able to make an arrest following a violent domestic incident.

Officers responded to reports of a 15 year-old who had been assaulted by her boyfriend. The victim was treated at a local hospital, where she told investigators about a months-long sexual relationship with the suspect 20 year-old Nicholas Mims. According to the victim, the assault happened after a heated argument. The fight escalated when Mims allegedly punched her, pulled her hair, and fired multiple shots at her with a .22 caliber rifle.

A search of Mims' residence, Officers found several shell casings confirming the shooting. Mims was arrested for the sexual relationship, physical altercation, and firing shots at the victim.

Mims was charged with the following:

· Felony Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile

· Aggravated Assault with a Firearm

· Illegal Use of a Firearm

· Battery of a Dating Partner
