On April 25th, 2023, Shreveport Police Patrol Officers responded to a residence in the 2900 block of Bolch Street in reference to a shooting. Upon the arrival of patrol officers, the victim was located suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Shreveport Fire Department was notified and upon arrival pronounced deceased the victim. The suspect was still on the scene and was detained. Shreveport Police Violent Crimes Investigators were notified and responded to the scene along with the Caddo Parish Coroners and Crime Scene Investigations.

During the ensuing investigation, Detectives collected evidence and obtained probable cause to show that Shraine Plater (4-17-01) was responsible for the murder of her husband, in contradiction to her initial claims. An arrest warrant was secured charging Plater for one count of Second-Degree Murder.

On May 2, 2023, Investigators with the Shreveport Police Robbery Unit located Plater and took her into custody. Plater was arrested for her outstanding warrant and booked into the Shreveport City Jail.

Investigation into this case is ongoing. All persons are innocent until proven guilty.
