Shreveport Woman Arrested in Domestic Cyberstalking Case
Shreveport Police have arrested a woman on charges of cyberstalking following an ongoing domestic investigation.
The victim reported continued harassment from her ex-girlfriend despite repeatedly telling her ex she did not want any communication with her.
The victim showed investigators evidence of the communications. The victim also told SPD she was concerned for her safety and that she believed the behavior was escalating. Investigators advised the victim to seek a temporary restraining order.
At a later date, the alleged offender voluntarily showed up at the investigations office to provide a statement. After being read her Miranda rights, Wendy Kelly told investigators that she knew the messaging had been excessive but said her intent was not to scare the victim.
Kelly was told by Police during the interview to immediately stop all communication with the victim and was told to contact an attorney regarding any property-related concerns.
Earlier this week, the victim informed investigators that additional communication had occurred from Kelly despite warnings.
As a result of the investigation, detectives arrested Kelly for one count of Cyberstalking.
