Shreveport Police have arrested a man following a domestic violence investigation stemming from an incident that occurred earlier this month.

Demarcus Graggs was charged with one count of Domestic Abuse Battery with Child Endangerment.

A background check revealed that Graggs was also wanted on two outstanding warrants for Child Desertion dating back to January of this year. Those warrants stemmed from an incident in which two children were reportedly left unattended inside the SporTran bus station by themselves.

Graggs has now been charged in connection with both the domestic violence incident and the outstanding child desertion cases.

From SPD:

"Domestic violence continues to have a devastating impact on our community. When these acts occur in the presence of children, the damage extends far beyond the immediate incident. Children exposed to violence often suffer lasting emotional and psychological effects that can follow them for years.

The Shreveport Police Department remains committed to aggressively investigating domestic violence cases and holding offenders accountable, especially when children are placed at risk."
