Shreveport Man Arrested for Domestic Violence With Brass Knuckles
Domestic Violence is the fastest growing crime in Shreveport. But, the Shreveport Police Department is working hard to combat it.
It's Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and SPD thinks it's quite fitting that a man like Kendrick Jones would be arrested after avoiding the law for months!
Jones was wanted in connection with a particularly brutal domestic violence case that happened back in July on Henry Street. Jones is accused of repeatedly hitting a woman in the face while wearing brass knuckles during a domestic dispute.
The attack took place in front of two 16 and 17 year-old juveniles who tried to intervene, and were injured in the process. Following the investigation, a warrant was issued for Jones for two counts of Domestic Abuse Battery with Child Endangerment and one count of Battery of a Dating Partner with a Dangerous Weapon.
Thanks to a Crime Stoppers tip, Shreveport Police were able to find his whereabouts. Jones had fled to Long Beach, California shortly after the alleged attack. Shreveport Police contacted the Long Beach Police Department, and both agencies coordinated to locate and arrest Jones.
From SPD:
"Jones will be extradited back to Louisiana to face charges for his crimes.
The Shreveport Police Department thanks the public for their continued cooperation and reminds citizens that anonymous tips can be submitted to Shreveport-Caddo Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373 or through the P3 Tips app."
