Shreveport Police Arrest Three for Internet Crimes Against Children

The Shreveport Police continues its efforts to identify and arrest individuals who use the internet to target children for sexual purposes.

Last week, SPD'S Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force arrested Jonathan Scheidt following an investigation that determined he had allegedly been soliciting juveniles online for sexual purposes. Scheidt was charged with Computer-Aided Solicitation of a Juvenile and Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile.

Investigators also arrested Joseph Holcomb after uncovering evidence that he had allegedly been targeting children online as well. Holcomb faces charges of Computer-Aided Solicitation of a Juvenile and Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile.

On the same day, Detectives arrested John Bilyeu after investigators determined he had allegedly been soliciting juveniles through electronic communication platforms. Bilyeu was charged with Computer-Aided Solicitation of a Juvenile, Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile, and Human Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes.

SPD is working hard to make it clear that people who exploit or attempt to exploit children online will be pursued aggressively and held accountable. Investigators assigned to the ICAC Task Force remain committed to protecting children in our community and working proactively to identify online predators before more victims are harmed.

“These crimes are among the most disturbing offenses investigators encounter. Anyone who believes they can hide behind a computer screen while targeting children should understand that law enforcement is actively monitoring, investigating, and making arrests.”

The investigations remain ongoing.
