SHREVEPORT, LA - A man suspected in a Shreveport carjacking is locked up today after a high speed chase in north Caddo Parish. The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating a single-vehicle crash that happened during a high-speed chase on Sunday.

When Did the Chase Happen?

At 3:20 p.m., Caddo Sheriff’s deputies were called to help the Vivian Police Department to catch the driver of a stolen white 2013 Buick Lacrosse. The Vivian officer spotted the Buick headed northbound on Highway 1 at high speeds, reaching up to 100 miles per hour at times and began the pursuit. The chase came to an end when the Buick turned right onto Highway 168 and crashed in a curve.

The car was reported stolen by the Shreveport Police Department, and a pistol was seized from the vehicle during the incident.

The identity of the suspect is currently unknown.  He was airlifted to Ochsner Medical for treatment of his injuries.

The investigation continues.

There were reports of a carjacking at the Shreve City Walmart on Sunday, but police have not confirmed if this is the suspect from that reported event.
