Shreveport Man Arrested Following Car Chase With Police
The day after Christmas, just after noon, Shreveport Police attempted to stop a driver on a traffic violation, but the suspect took off!
The suspect led SPD on a chase through parts of the city, before finally coming to a stop. Police were able to get the suspect out of the car. Shreveport Police did not mention any charges of resisting, but judging by the booking photo, it looks like he may have put up a bit of a fight
Shreveport Police arrested Anthony Cotton after he fled from officers during a traffic stop, leading police on a pursuit.
What began as a traffic violation quickly escalated into serious felony charges, including Aggravated Flight from an Officer, along with Careless Operation and additional traffic violations.
From SPD:
"Refusing to stop for police can turn a simple traffic stop into a felony in seconds. It puts officers, drivers, and innocent people at risk.
As we head into the new year, make the smart choice:
Pull over. Follow commands. Go home safely.
Start your year on the right foot — not with a felony."
