
Shreveport Woman Arrested in Brutal Child Abuse Case
The Shreveport Police Department is investigating a disturbing case of child abuse involving a 5 year-old boy who is now fighting for his life.
Earlier this week, Shreveport Police were called after the 5 year-old was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. The child's injuries were extreme and suspicious so, Juvenile Investigators were called to start an investigation.
Investigators found that the child lives in an apartment complex on North Market Street and, at some point while under the care of adults, sustained severe injuries.
Medical staff documented horrific injuries:
· Bruising covering approximately 60% of the child’s body
· A broken wrist
· A broken nose
· Trauma to the genital area
· Severe malnourishment
· Multiple knots on the head, Scarring on the chest and back, Lacerations to both the upper and lower lips
· Feces and urine present on the child’s body and feet
Following an investigation and interview, Shadiamond Prude was arrested and charged with the following:
· Two counts of Improper Supervision
· One count of Neglect of Family
This investigation is ongoing, and detectives are actively looking at additional leads. More arrests are expected.
