Shreveport Firefighters Battle Blaze at a Favorite Local Diner
Early this morning, just before 5am Shreveport Firefighters got a call to Mansfield Road about a business fire.
SFD pulled up to R.J.'s Restaurant and could see smoke and flames coming out of the roof of the building. The fire apparently started somewhere in the kitchen area of the restaurant. Employees tried putting out the fire with a fire extinguisher, but the fire had already spread to the ceiling, attic, and roof prompting them to call 911.
11 units and 30 firefighters were able to get the blaze under control by 5:30am. No reports of any injuries to Firefighters, employees, or patrons.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by SFD's Arson Investigators. More information will be added to this post as it's forthcoming.
