Shreveport Police Seeking Man Wanted for Beating a Woman During a Robbery

Shreveport Police Department Patrol Officers were dispatched to a reported robbery that had just occurred.

When SPD got to the scene, Officers made contact with a female victim who appeared disoriented and was drifting in and out of consciousness. Through the investigation, officers learned the victim had been walking home with her dog from Strange Brew when she was approached by two males in a silver vehicle.

One of the suspects got out of the car and approached the victim. The suspect demanded that she either surrender the items on her person or get into the vehicle.

When the victim refused to do what the man said, the suspect began hitting her multiple times until she fell to the ground. The assault continued while she was on the ground. After attacking the victim, the suspect searched her person but was unable to obtain any items. The suspect then fled the area.

The victim came to the Violent Crimes Unit and participated in a photographic lineup. The victim positively identified 47 year-old Avionest Fuller as the man who attacked her.

Following the identification, detectives submitted arrest warrants charging Fuller with:

· Attempted Kidnapping

· Second Degree Battery

This investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges or arrests are possible.
