The Capital One Bank branch at Youree and Fontaine was robbed just before 4pm on Wednesday.  The lone robber walked into the bank and handed the teller  note, demanding money.  But he was not prepared for what happened as he fled from the bank.

An employee from Capital One had just returned from a dental appointment and she noticed him running off.  Kim Toney tells KEEL News she saw smoke coming from the bag he was carrying and realized immediately it was a dye pack that had gone off in the bag.  She followed him in her car as he ran off into the neighborhood but lost him when he darted behind some houses.  No one in the bank was hurt.  Employees at Happy Bellys (directly across the street) did not see the man run toward Youree Drive or to the north.  Police are still searching for the robber.  Listen in the morning to 710 KEEL to hear what eyewitness, Kim Toney saw shortly after the holdup.
