Shreveport Man Arrested for Attempted Murder
On November 1, 2024, at approximately 3:45 PM, Shreveport Police Department (SPD) officers responded to a shooting incident at 1901 Centenary Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers found a male victim with a gunshot wound to his lower body, suffering extensive blood loss. SPD officers on the scene quickly applied a tourniquet to stem the victim’s blood loss, a critical intervention that likely saved the victim’s life.
Paramedics from the Shreveport Fire Department arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
SPD investigators identified the suspect in this case as Latravious Lewis. An arrest warrant was obtained, charging Lewis with Attempted Second-Degree Murder. On November 4, 2024, the SPD Special Response Team executed a search warrant and apprehended Lewis without incident. In addition to the Attempted Second-Degree Murder charge, Lewis faces multiple narcotics and firearms-related charges, including possession of a fully automatic weapon, as well as several outstanding warrants.
This arrest underscores SPD’s commitment to public safety and our ongoing efforts to remove dangerous individuals from our streets. This is a result of the tireless efforts of our detectives who worked through the weekend to make this case.
