Shreveport Police Arrest Suspect for Attempted Murder
On June 24th, 2023, at 3:35 a.m., Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a call of a shooting in the 300 block of Robinson Place. Responding officers located a victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. The victim was transported to a local area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Investigators with the Shreveport Police Violent Crimes Unit responded to the scene and began their investigation into the incident. After a thorough investigation detectives found that a male identified as Tony Thompson (7-6-01) reportedly shot the victim and fled the scene.
On July 24th, 2023, Thompson was arrested by members of the Violent Crimes Unit and charged with one count of Attempted Second-Degree Murder. The victim is expected to survive.
