Shreveport Police Arrest Man After Attack With a Table

On September 23, 2024, at approximately 1:40 a.m., Shreveport Police Department officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of Murray Street in reference to a battery incident. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim, who had sustained multiple lacerations, contusions, and swelling to the scalp.

The investigation revealed that during an argument, 35-year-old Chanceler Bennett armed himself with a small metal table and began striking the victim in the head. The victim is expected to recover from their injuries.

Bennett was arrested at the scene and charged with one count of aggravated battery.
