Earlier this week, Shreveport Police responded to Atkins Park after a city employee reported being attacked while eating lunch in his work truck.

The employee, who works for Shreveport Parks and Recreation, reported that Linda Jefferson approached him screaming and carrying a metal rod. Video reviewed by SPD Officers showed Jefferson running up on the employee and hitting him near his shoulder and neck with the rod.

The employee defended himself, and a physical struggle followed. During that fight, Jefferson allegedly attempted to stab him with a sharp, knife-shaped weapon. The employee blocked the attempt and was able to restrain Jefferson until Officers arrived.

Officers found both weapons used in the assault. Jefferson was initially booked as a Jane Doe after refusing identify herself to Police and was later identified through fingerprinting.

Jefferson received medical treatment before being taken to the Shreveport City Jail.
