Shreveport Man Arrested for Aggravated Assault With a Firearm
The Shreveport Police Department has taken into custody 45-year-old Tareck Jenkins following an investigation into an incident that occurred on March 31 in the 500 block of Kemper Street.
Jenkins stands accused of one count of aggravated assault with a firearm after his alleged action of threatening individuals with a firearm. Luckily no one was harmed in this incident.
The Shreveport Police Department remains committed to upholding the law and holding individuals accountable for their actions.
We are required to remind that all suspects are innocent until found guilty.
§37.4. Aggravated assault with a firearm
A. Aggravated assault with a firearm is an assault committed by the discharge of a firearm.
B. For the purposes of this Section, "firearm" is defined as an instrument used in the propulsion of shot, shell, or bullets by the action of gunpowder exploded within it.
C. Whoever commits an aggravated assault with a firearm shall be fined not more than five thousand dollars, or imprisoned for not more than five years, with or without hard labor, or both.
