On December 17, 2024, just after 6:30 p.m., Shreveport Police officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Egan Street in response to an assault and battery. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from multiple head wounds.

Through their investigation, officers learned that the victim and suspect, identified as Jeremy O'Connor, were attempting to change a car tire when a dispute erupted. During the altercation, O'Connor reportedly armed himself with a pipe and struck the victim in the head multiple times.

Fortunately, the victim is expected to recover from his injuries.
O'Connor was found to have outstanding warrants for traffic violations and was ultimately arrested for one count of Aggravated Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.

The Shreveport Police Department urges the community to seek nonviolent solutions to conflicts and to contact authorities if disputes escalate.
