Last week, Shreveport Police responded to an assault and battery call in the 7900 block of Aaron Place.

What started as a normal workday reportedly turned into a terrifying situation when a verbal disagreement between coworkers escalated into violence.

According to SPD Investigators, Christian Dias punched his coworker, then got a handgun from a backpack inside his company vehicle. Dias allegedly racked the firearm, pointed it at the victim’s head, and threatened to kill him before fleeing the scene, leaving the company vehicle behind.

Witnesses said that when the firearm was pulled, school children who were leaving a nearby school ran away scared for their safety. No person, child or adult should ever be placed in that kind of danger due to reckless gun handling.

Shreveport Police obtained arrest warrants for Dias on the following charges:

• Aggravated assault with a firearm

• Simple battery

• Possession of a firearm in a firearm-free zone

From SPD:

"Violence and firearms have no place in workplace disagreements or near our schools. Shreveport Police will continue to aggressively investigate and hold accountable anyone who endangers others and our community.

If you have information on the whereabouts of Christian Dias, contact Caddo Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373. You can remain anonymous."
