Shreveport Man Arrested Following a Domestic Stabbing

Last Friday Shreveport Police were called about a stabbing on Vivian Street.

SPD showed up at the scene where they found a woman covered in blood because she had been stabbed several times. Police also found Joseph Kelly who had a stab wound to his forearm.

Both were taken to a local hospital to be treated, and the woman's status was updated to life-threatening because she had been stabbed in the chest and stomach. She was rushed in to surgery, and is expected to recover.

During SPD's investigation they found out that 2 children under the age of 13 witnessed the whole thing. The kids said that Kelly was the one who started stabbing the woman during a fight. The woman was able to get the knife away from Kelly and stabbed him in the forearm.

After learning the full story SPD was able to arrest Kelly after he was out of medical care. Kelly is being charged with Attempted Second-Degree Murder and 2 counts of Domestic Battery and Child Endangerment.
