Shreveport Man Arrested Following Shooting at Local Bar

Last week, Shreveport Police Officers working an off-duty detail on Marshall Street advised dispatch that a shooting had just occurred at the location.

When additional units got to the scene, Officers found a 19 year-old man with several gunshot wounds to his lower body. Shreveport Fire Department medics rendered aid to the man before taking the victim to Ochsner LSU Health with possible life-threatening injuries.

Detectives responded to both the scene and the hospital to continue the investigation. Crime Scene Investigators also processed the area for evidence.

Medical staff told detectives that the victim was in stable condition after being treated for multiple gunshot wounds to the abdomen.

During the investigation, detectives identified Taurus White as a suspect involved in the shooting that occurred in the 1600 block of Marshall Street.

White was found and taken into custody. He was taken to the SPD Investigations Office, where detectives conducted an interview regarding the incident.

After the interview, White was arrested and charged with Illegal Discharge (Use) of Weapons During a Crime of Violence.

SPD executed a search warrant at White’s home. With assistance from the SPD Crime Scene Unit, investigators found several items related to the investigation.
