Shreveport Police Make Arrest in Home Invasion Case

Last week, Shreveport Police were called to Devaughn Street to a terrifying situation.

The caller was in fear for her life and said a man was trying to force his way inside of her home. The woman was so afraid, that she armed herself with a gun. Dewayne Allen, who was known by the victim, was able to get in to the house, and a fight over the gun started.

The gun went off inside of the home during the struggle, and thankfully no one was shot. Allen fled the scene before SPD could get there.

Police started an investigation, and had enough evidence to secure a search warrant for Allen, and a search began. After a week, SPD located Allen and the warrant was executed. Allen was arrested by Shreveport Police's Violent Crimes Unit on one count of home invasion.
