
Shreveport Police Arrest Three People for Gun Crimes
The Shreveport Police Department has been working hard to keep the community safe by taking guns out of the hands of people who shouldn't have them.
On October 18th, officers arrested Niquirie Anderson following an incident in which she was accused of threatening people with a firearm. Fortunately, no one was injured. Anderson has been charged with one count of aggravated assault with a firearm.
That same evening, around, officers responded to a separate call to a man acting disorderly. Officers located the man, identified as Jesse Roberts, who was disturbing people in the area. He was charged with one count of disturbing the peace. Further investigation showed he was negligently carrying a concealed handgun, which was seized by officers. Roberts was charged with one count of negligent carrying of a weapon.
In a separate incident on October 22nd, patrol officers responded to reports of shots fired. Officers located and arrested Frankie Johnson in connection with the incident. No one was injured. Johnson has been charged with one count of illegal use of a weapon.

"The Shreveport Police Department strongly supports the rights of citizens to bear arms; however, those rights must be exercised safely and lawfully. Firearms should never be used to threaten others or discharged without just cause."
