Shreveport Man Arrested After Argument That Turned in to a Shooting
Over the weekend, Shreveport Police were called to an incident that began as a verbal dispute inside a residence in the 600 block of Sumpter Street.
The dispute quickly turned violent when Edward Hardebeck IV armed himself with a semi-automatic pistol and shot another man in the leg.

According to detectives, the victim, fearing he would be shot again, returned fire and struck Hardebeck in the abdomen. Both men were transported to Ochsner LSU Health for treatment.
After interviewing witnesses and executing a search warrant, investigators determined Hardebeck was the aggressor. He was subsequently charged with one count of Aggravated Battery.
From SPD:
"Arguments are temporary. Gunshots, surgeries, and felony charges last much longer.
A simple disagreement turned into two people in hospital beds and one man facing criminal charges."
