On October 11, 2024, just after 6:00 AM, officers from the Shreveport Police Department were dispatched to a report of a burglary in progress in the 1700 block of Lakeshore Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a male suspect had forcibly entered the business and stolen various items.

The property owner confronted the suspect, who then brandished a handgun. While on scene, the suspect attempted to use a credit card stolen from the business. Thanks to the swift response of SPD officers, Dearsie Giles (40 years old) was apprehended in the vicinity.

Giles has been charged with Aggravated Burglary. Fortunately, no one was injured during this incident.
