The Shreveport Police Department has announced the arrest of 47-year-old Brian Mitchell following the reopening of a sexual abuse investigation dating back to September 2019. Mitchell, born September 7, 1978, faces one count of molestation of a juvenile and one count of felony sexual battery.

Shreveport Cold Case Reopened

Working in collaboration with the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, detectives were able to revisit the initial allegations against Mitchell. The case was re-examined based on new information and recently developed evidence. Following forensic interviews and a review of the new findings, investigators obtained warrants for Mitchell’s arrest, and he has since been taken into custody.
