According to the National Weather Service, Shreveport, Bossier and the surrounding area could see severe weather this evening. According to the latest models from the NWS, the area between Longview and Ruston has an enhanced risk for extreme weather.

The service says "Scattered severe thunderstorms are expected to develop late this afternoon and evening over much of the region. Large hail, damaging winds, and isolated tornadoes will all be possible, before the storms weaken by late evening as they begin to shift east out of the region."

At this time, no severe weather or tornado warnings have been issued. However, weather experts are urging everyone to be prepared and to stay inside.
