It's no secret that donating blood saves lives. LifeShare Blood Center is always at the forefront encouraging people to save a life through blood donation and we are grateful that they are always so quick to throw fun initiatives our way. This November is no different and they want to help with the bird for Turkey Day. You have my full attention.

According to KSLA12: Lifeshare plans to give out free turkey and hams to anyone who goes out and donates blood. The cutoff date for donating blood and claiming your free bird is on Wednesday, November 25th. If you donate before Wednesday you can take your free turkey or ham voucher to any local Kroger, Albertson's, or Brookshires. You can score a fresh, canned, or frozen ham or turkey that's up to $10.00.

There are two locations you can donate in Shreveport-Bossier:

1523 Doctors Drive in Bossier City or 8910 Linwood Avenue in Shreveport. You can click here to schedule your blood donation.

According to the Red Cross website, we have a dire need for blood donations in America. "Type AB positive plasma can be transfused to patients of all blood types. Since only 3% of people in the U.S. have AB positive blood, this plasma is usually in short supply." If you know your blood type and happen to be AB positive please consider donating.
