Louisiana Treats Santa Would Love on Christmas Eve
Santa gets a ton of treats when he makes deliveries on Christmas Eve. In fact, he probably gets tired of milk and cookies. That’s why Louisiana folks should try to be a little creative when the big guy makes a visit.
Iconic Louisiana Treats to Leave for Santa
Santa will surely remove you from the naughty list if you leave him some of the great sweet treats we have in the Bayou State. As Santa takes his snack break, he will be thrilled to see a plate full of Louisiana beignets. You can actually buy the Café Du Monde mix at local grocery stores and make these treats. The secret is not to handle the dough too much. That will keep them light and fluffy.

And with the beignets, Santa will want a nice strong cup of coffee. Chicory coffee would be his favorite.
Be sure to leave lots of napkins out for Santa. We don’t want him to get powdered sugar all over his beautiful red suit.
Another great Louisiana treat would be pralines. Santa would love the sugar rush he gets from these tasty candies. If you’ve never tried to make pralines, you might wanna practice on a few batches. They are made with sugar, butter, cream, and pecans. Getting them to just the right temperature before spooning them onto wax paper is tricky.

Santa would also be thrilled to spot a slice of King Cake on your kitchen table. You can find King Cakes popping up at several local bakeries around town. You might even be able to find a Christmas-themed King Cake.
A really special sweet candy for Santa would be sugar coated pecans. These are pretty easy to prepare and great Louisiana pecans are always delicious.
