A wild night in Shreveport over the weekend has folks asking questions. On Saturday (3/30/24) Shreveport Police arrived on the scene of a group of drivers cutting doughnuts in the middle of the road near an I-49 overpass.

This unsanctioned display, caught on video made the rounds on social media over the weekend angering some locals. The group can be seen in the videos blocking the streets, and causing havoc. Many people were out of their vehicles seemingly standing in a circle while two vehicles cut doughnuts and drive recklessly inside the circle of spectators.

When asked about this incident Cpl. Chris Bordelon with the Shreveport Police department had this to say:

"There are some videos on social media of people driving recklessly, we will address that and adjust personnel accordingly to make sure that is taken care of."

When asked if any action will be taken with all the evidence in the videos, Cpl. Bordelon said:

"Yeah, there's lots of evidence that the people doing that stuff were very gracious to put on social media for us!"

Cpl. Bordelon continued by saying that SPD gets a call about once a month about this type of activity, but this is the first time seeing this type of display in the middle of an active roadway.

Shreveport Police are currently investigating this disturbance and are asking anyone with information to come forward. Blocking a roadway is incredibly illegal as it could impede emergency responders  from getting to an emergency situation in a timely manner.

Detectives are asking anyone with information relative to this to contact them at 318-673-6955. Those wishing to submit information anonymously can contact Caddo Shreveport Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373 or via their app, P3Tips.
