On September 17, 2025, Vice officers conducted an operation that led to the arrest of two individuals.
Cathlina Cummings was taken into custody for prostitution and various narcotics-related offenses.
Angela Dupont was arrested for prostitution and was found to have an outstanding warrant for theft.
These arrests underscore the department's commitment to reducing the presence of prostitution and preventing the exploitation of vulnerable individuals.
Community-Focused Partnerships
Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith highlighted that the goal of these enforcement efforts is not just to make arrests but to restore a sense of safety and confidence in the Monkhouse area. “Our goal is to clean up this corridor and make it a safer place for everyone. That means removing criminal elements, but also partnering with organizations that can help individuals escape cycles of addiction and exploitation,” Chief Smith said.
A Call for Community Engagement
The Shreveport Police Department released a statement saying it remains dedicated to working with the City of Shreveport and other community partners to reduce crime and foster a safer environment for all residents.
The public plays a crucial role in these efforts. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious or illegal activity by calling the Shreveport Police Department at 318-673-7300 or contacting Caddo Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
