A lot of people in Louisiana's political arena are in shock over the death of political blogger C.B. Forgotston.

According to Louisiana Radio Network in Baton Rouge, he was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound Sunday at age 70. State Treasurer John Kennedy told LRN he was saddened when he heard the news.

"You'll hear this time and time again, 'He'd say what other people wouldn't'. I always respected that and i'm going to miss him," Kennedy said. "Louisiana weeps. Louisiana lost a favorite son."

LRN also reports Forgotston became a political watchdog after years of working as a state legislative staffer and business lobbyist. He made many enemies by regularly skewering elected officials on his blogsite and on Twitter.

Kennedy said Forgotston was determined to uncover the truth about state government because he loved Louisiana.

"He didn't make any money doing what he did. It was all a voluntary effort, but he cared," said Kennedy. "He was doggedly determined to put Louisiana on the right course."

Kennedy said Forgotston's candor, honesty and goodness will be missed.

Forgotston was a regular guest on the Moon Griffon show, which airs from 9-11 a.m. on 710 KEEL.
